Who is this Earl of Sandwich you ask? Well, John Montagu was born on this day in 1718. He is know as the 4th Earl of Sandwich. You might be asking why celebrate the 4th Earl of sandwich and not the first? Well, John Montagu is the self claimed creator of the Sandwich! Bless his soul!
